Gardein Orange Chick'n Stir-fry
This recipe is one of my go-to's. I almost always have the ingredients to make this. My freezer is always stocked with gardein products, they are always vegan and I trust that anything with their name on it will taste great! Another thing that I love about this is that it's super quick and simple, and it photographs beautifully. It's sweet and savory flavors is sure to please any palate of vegans and non-vegans alike. I typically serve this over jasmine rice but feel free to play around with it a bit and serve it over whatever you like!
Ingredients:
2 cups of cooked jasmine rice
1 pack of Gardein Orange Chicken and included sauce pack
1/2 large yellow onion
Varies colors of bell peppers, about 1/3 cup
Green Beans about 1/4 cup
Black Pepper
Chopped fresh parsley (dried also works) to taste
Canola Oil
*Optional Seasonings and additions*
Honey
Soy sauce
Ginger
White Pepper
Coriander
So now we got all our ingredients together, let's jump into it shall we?
1. If you're like me, some of your veggies are frozen. I always cut up bell peppers and freeze them so the first thing you would want to do is take them out and along with the frozen green beans and put them in a bowl of warm water. The sauce that comes in the gardein orange chick'n is also frozen, so you're going to want to let that thaw out the same way.
2. Pour some canola oil in a frying pan or wok, just enough to cover the base and bring the oil to medium heat.
3. Chop up the onion, and once the oil is good and hot (depending on your stove this takes around 3-5 minutes) add the cut onion into the pan along with some salt to help the browning process.
4. After about 3 minutes, or until the onions are slightly browned, add the rest of the veggies and the pack of gardein chick'n. Then give it a stir and let everyone get to know each other with the seasonings listed above. Once the seasonings have been added and coat the chik'n and veggies evenly let everything lie flat to the pan avoiding any layering to the best of your ability so that everything can brown evenly and let it sit for about two minutes before moving it around. Continue this for about 10 minutes.
